Certified Autism Support Coach (CASDC)
As a late-in-life and self-diagnosed autistic who is raising an autistic child, I struggled to navigate the support system and services that were officially available to us. I did a deep dive on what I could do to simplify things and provide gap services. I studied abnormal psychology at Purdue University and continue to be fascinated by neuroscience, specifically neurodivergence.
I can help with:
Emotion identification and regulation
Sensory profile mapping and regulation
Quality of life skills for independence
Educational and workplace rights and accommodations
Family support...AND MORE!
Autism is a specific type of brain function, a neurotype that diverges from typically developing brains. It isn't a deficit and there is nothing wrong to be cured with Autism. The neuropathways between different sections of the brain connect, respond and perceive signals differently. This can cause imbalances with senses, emotions and how we experience the world.
Signs of neurodivergence can be observed within the first few years of life. By closely monitoring milestones and development, seeking early intervention is a key component to setting an autistic child up for success. Natural guidance in navigating emotions, senses and communication modalities help to meet the child where they are today.
So many things change when we are longer considered a legal child. A support coach can assist in preparing for the world you are entering. Expectations and demands are higher, but the level and type of support you're receiving doesn't have to automatically change. We are flexible and can always adjust, when you're ready. We can guide you through life skills, job preparation and self-advocacy.

With new discoveries in neuroscience happening everyday, more of us are realizing in adulthood that we aren't just quirky, we're Autistic. In recent decades, you needed to require significant support to qualify as Autistic. If you relate to sensory sensitivities, go over social scenarios days after they happened, or realize many tasks seem easier for others, you may benefit from a support specialist.
In this 20-minute online session we can discuss any specific goals or challenges you'd like to address and see if we're good fit for one another. We'll formulate a flexible plan that adapts to your specific needs. Ask questions and get honest answers.
In these sessions, we'll assess where you or your loved one is in their journey and meet them where they are today. We'll create a living document that adapts our level and type of support provided with continuous tracking and feedback.
In these group settings, we'll discuss experiences in a supportive environment where we can put our developing social skills into real time practice. These groups will be small and customized into interests, skill level and sensory profiles.
Please reach out to miranda@friendzoneoc.com if you have more questions.
Honestly, each session is custom tailored to YOU. Your needs, your goals, and it can change week-to-week, it can even change mid-session! Sometimes we discover something new and it changes everything.
We may need to spend more time on a social interaction skill, a sensory experience, going over how to seek a reasonable workplace accommodation.
I don't have a 12-week course or a nine-step plan. Some will need me for one session, some will need me for as long as I'm available.
Each 50-minute session has an introductory price of $25 per session for the first ninety days. Prices will increase based on demand, level of experience and level of education. Most sessions in the valley range from $175-315 per hour and many require a set time commitment.
I am in the process of working with a few insurance companies to find out what exactly is covered, if a diagnosis is needed and how to prove my services are a medical necessity. I am keeping my service costs to clients low in the meantime. You can also submit a superbill I provide to you after each session to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
No! She is barely emotional support for me, let alone clients. She is a judgmental menace and you all seem to love her, so she gets to stay.
Join me (and Bean, of course!) as I go through some of the details of this important new service that I will be launching in the next few months!
